Stand up and move!

Repetitive practice can be fun too with this circle game with a twist.

‘Stand up and move’ can be used for any activity where kids are sitting in a circle and one of them has a task. It could be asking a question or pantomime.

Here it is putting a box on top of the tower. Going around the circle with the same question can seem a bit boring, but the kids don’t mind. They know that they are going to have their turn in building the tower. And even better, they know that at the end they have a chance to destroy the tower. It’s the anticipation of what is coming that makes it OK to go through the ‘boring’ practice part.

The stacking blocks set can be bought here . It’s not as nice as mine, but it’s cheaper 🙂
