Students usually get really excited about this game, which sometimes makes it difficult for them...
A 'stand up and move' activity for higher levels.
This is another ‘stand up and move’ activity for higher levels. It’s nice way to find out what you have in common with your classmates and it is also a great grammar review as you can use all tenses and modal verbs.
Students will need to know what tense is being used and what auxiliary verb belongs to it and change the word order (exactly the same as what they have to do when asking closed questions). As you can see in the video, you can guide them towards the forms you want them to practice.
You can also play another version of this activity called: ‘Neither am I’.
Tip: Add a game element by challenging students to show that they remember what other pairs had in common by asking them: ‘Do they both like pizza?’ or using a tag guestion: ‘They both like pizza, don’t they?’.
